Dear friends and fellow musicians,
first and foremost, I’d like to thank you for your interest in our products and services.
When I started ESH Amplification 1989, I did it with a simple idea in mind – to set up a company that builds the best tube guitar gear, period. Just before that, in the late eighties, I was finishing up at university and had started playing guitar in a local band. I quickly realized that tubes were the only way to get the warm, robust sound that virtually all guitar players – myself included – demand. Shortly thereafter, I started spending every free moment that I had doing repairs and modifications to tube amps. The time spent doing this work paid huge dividends when I later started designing and manufacturing amplifiers myself.
All of that time spent doing repairs and modifications taught me a vital lesson – how NOT to make amps. All around me, I saw more and more big companies cutting corners in exchange for short-term benefits. The quality and robustness of their products were falling dramatically, almost as if their products were being produced to last just up to the point when their warranties expired. This was in stark contrast to the not-too-distant past, when high build quality was a key factor in many of these companies’ popularity.
I like high-quality gear that is well-engineered. If that makes me “old-school”, I’ll accept that label without hesitation, because I am deeply convinced that this is the only meaningful way to do things. I’m happy to report that I am not alone in this. I feel strongly that it’s always better to play the long game and earn customer satisfaction from that starting point. That’s why I never cut corners in any step in the manufacturing process. Only the highest-quality components, often built-to-spec for us, go into ESH amps. The tubes used in our gear are burned-in for 48 hours, thoroughly tested and sonically selected directly in the amps they go into to ensure their long-time reliability and sonic performance. Due to this process, we reject about one third of the tubes that we use since they don’t meet our strict requirements. Significant amounts of time are spent tweaking the designs even if to achieve the slightest improvement in tone and responsiveness. This is all very time-intensive, but it represents the commitment that I have made to design amps that help both domestic and internationally-known players along on their search for the ultimate guitar tone.
ESH gear is fully developed, handcrafted, tested and fine-tuned by us here in the Czech Republic. In our desire to maintain high standards, we keep every step of the manufacturing process under strict quality control. We have refused to outsource any of the production like many of the most well-known brands have done. Designing and manufacturing guitar gear is not just a job for me, it’s a passion. I firmly believe that there is still a place for high-quality, no-compromise manufacturing amongst the mediocre-sounding, poorly built gear that currently floods the market.
We at ESH consider the purchase of any of our gear to be the first step in a long-term relationship with our customers, not just the end of a transaction. This, together with our commitment to maintain our products’ value, is why we offer customers the opportunity to modify our gear for every player’s precise needs. Beyond our products‘ five years (limited) warranty, we also offer lifetime repair support.
Our company is not driven by a mighty marketing machine – we prefer to let quality speak for itself. We do not make false claims because we do not need to. The ESH brand is recognized today as the most valued name in the domestic tube guitar gear market, which makes us extremely proud – we consider it to be a testimonial to the hard work that we have done over the past three decades. But we do not intend on resting on our laurels – our commitment for the future is built upon the same foundation and beliefs.
I would like to invite all of you to try our gear yourself; at the same time, I would like to express my thanks to all of our loyal customers, long-time friends and supporters. Thank you very much – our work would be meaningless without you!
